CAMPS
Our Camps
Camps are one the vehicles we use to put into practice some lessons that were taught in the classroom. The students will attend various camps, all camps have a different objective from each other.
Genesis Camp
This is our first camp of the year and it aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to embark on a successful and enriching the Kingdom Arrows adventure. It serves as a comprehensive introduction to the upcoming gap year experience. This camp is designed to familiarize participants with the program’s objectives, expectations, and logistics. During the orientation, participants engage in team-building activities, receive essential information about safety and cultural sensitivity, and gain insights into the communities they’ll be serving or exploring.
Hike Camp
This camp offers an exhilarating and immersive outdoor experience combined with adventure and personal growth. It focuses on fostering a deep connection with nature while providing valuable skills and insights for hikers. Students embark on a series of guided hikes through diverse landscapes, from rugged mountains to scenic trails, challenging themselves physically and mentally. The camp not only enhances participants’ hiking abilities but also promotes environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility towards the natural world. This camp is designed to instill a love for the outdoors, develop self-reliance, and provide a solid foundation.
Facilitators
Throughout the year, various students will be chosen to be volunteers for various church and community camps as need arises. Students who have shown growth and leadership throughout the program will chosen to be a part of this.
Year End Camp
The Year-End Camp is for students who complete their gap year program, it’s a celebratory and reflective culmination of a transformative journey. The camp offers participants a chance to unwind, share stories, and forge lasting connections with peers who have embarked on similar adventures. Engaging activities, ranging from team-building challenges to storytelling sessions around bonfires, provide a platform for participants to celebrate their achievements and discuss the profound personal growth they’ve experienced throughout the gap year. Guided by program leaders and mentors, the camp emphasizes self-reflection, goal-setting, and the integration of newfound skills into future endeavors. As the students bid farewell to their gap year, the Year-End Camp serves as a meaningful transition, leaving them with cherished memories, a sense of accomplishment, and a community of like-minded individuals who share a common bond forged through their transformative gap year experiences.
